On May 23, 2019, Shane Beal left this world.
As his Mother and Father, there really are no words to describe the pain and void in our lives. But we wanted to find a way to keep his memory alive. With the generous help of Shane’s friend Aloysius Wong, we have created this site as a tribute to Shane. It is a place where all of us who miss Shane can come and remember what made him such a special person.
“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in our throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” – Jamie Anderson
Our hope is that this website will be a place where our grief can go – a place where each of us can share the memories and feelings about Shane that we have been carrying within us since his passing.
Shane was a unique person with a lot of wonderful traits, one of which was his ability to make meaningful connections with so many different people — classmates and co-workers, young kids and people much older, those who shared his faith and views, and those with whom he disagreed. It gives us both sorrow and comfort to know that so many other people share in our profound loss. We would be grateful for any memories or photos you choose to share as it would give us the privilege of getting to know better some of the people in Shane’s world, and also to learn of good times he had but wasn’t able to tell us about yet.
Together, we can celebrate his life and share what he meant to each of us through photos, stories and memories. We hope this site can keep Shane’s memory alive, and create connections among us so we can share our pain but also smile as we remember what a unique, enthusiastic, energetic, bright, loving, wonderful person he was.
